Journal #1My first day back as a senior was breathtaking, Finally realizing that it's my last first day of high school. I also very content because i got to see all my friends again and also a couple of teachers. However, besides being breath taking, my first day gave me an unsettled feeling. I personally do not feel like i am a senior, i feel like i was a freshman last year. This year i have some classes that are from my junior year therefore, i am not on pace because i need to catch up on my junior year classes. Currently, i am working on my journals for my senior project. In order for me to graduate from Lindsay High School i am going to have to really push myself and get all my stuff in. Furthermore, I am going to have to stay after school to work on my classes that i am most behind in and that i need help. As a senior i now feel what i would see the seniors before me would go through, i remember i used to quote “nah, that ain’t never gonna be me, i’ll get my stuff turned in” But damn i procrastinated a little bit and look at me now i have almost twice the work than i should have because i procrastinated on some classes. However, even though i am behind on some classes i am strongly motivated to finish them and proceed to college which is my primary goal. My goal is to go to UTI in sacramento, i want a future in the automotive industry. I am planning on enrolling in collision repair and work on General Motors cars, for example Chevy or GMC. As senior i have witnessed that as the year pass the work gets harder but your group of friends get smaller. I remember as a freshman i started with a large group of friends now, my circle has gotten smaller and i have ended up with only my close friends. I seriously thought i would end up with almost every friend from elementary school but nah that can’t possibly happened because the more you progress through life the more independent you become. In conclusion, what i hope to accomplish of my senior year is to make it the best year of my young life. My goal is to have fun this year with my friends and classmates but also to turn in my work and get it done and proceed to the next task which is college. However, before i go to college i want to work and earn some money so i can be covered when i leave to college. My overall plan is to finish high school and college and end up with a job that i enjoy doing. Furthermore, my goal is to get a job and give back to my parents. I never gonna be able to pay back everything my parents have given me but i will at least give return the favor and give back to them now that i am going to be able to. |

Since my last journal entry there are many things about me that have changed. I have grown as a person and also as an adult. The more as the year goes on, the more i feel as if i’m heading out into the world and starting my own life. I realize i am more independent than i was and i now have to get in the mindset that i’m the one that’s going to take my own choices now, i realized i’m the one that’s gonna decide on what i want to do with my future. During the first semester of my senior year i have been doing pretty good in most of my courses but there are two in particular that i am struggling to complete. The classes i am having trouble with are English and Economics.
By the end of the semester i have to get these classes done in order to stay on pace on all my classes. I am going to have to do a lot of work and stay focused if i want to finish all my incomplete courses. I am also having trouble on my senior project, which is with my job shadow. I haven’t been able to request or find someone for the job shadow interview. On the other hand, What i am enjoying about my senior year is that I am enjoying this year the most because it’s my last year and it might be the last year i see a lot of peers from school, it makes me sad to leave my friends and many adventures behind but i am also happy because it means we are heading out into the world to begin our lives.
My plans for post graduation are to take a gap year to earn some money but mainly gain experience in the workforce and to learn more responsibility. I am looking forward to getting my high school diploma and then work for a year. I am not planning to go to college the first year because i first need to get a vehicle to move myself around, furthermore, i would like to go to college with some money saved up. When i go to college, i am not planning to go to a great big college, instead i am planning to take some courses at a simple college such as PC, COS, UTI or Barber school. In my preparation for post graduation i am very supported by my parents. My parents fully support me in my decision to go to college and to strive for a better life. As a matter of fact, they encourage me to go to college so that i can get a better job and have an easier way of winning money then what they had to go through because they say they do not want me to struggle the way they have. My parents encourage me to go to college even if i take a small course, they just don’t want me to work in the fields like they did.

My senior year winter break was actually very pleasing. I had a lot of fun and i got a lot of rest which i really needed. During my spring break i spent a lot of time with my family which i am really blessed i got to do because during school weeks, i don’t have enough time to spend with my family because i’m at school most of the day and when i get home it’s to do homework, eat and rest. So when winter break comes what i look forward to doing is spending time with my friends and family to the fullest. Reflecting on my first semester i have things i love and regret about it.
What i most love from my first semester was the rallies, i enjoy rallies way more now because it’s my last year here and it’s gonna be a while since i am part of another rally. On the other hand, what i regret about my first semester was falling behind in two of classes. I regret not staying focus in my classes. Now, i have to do double the work, i have to complete last semester’s and this semester’s work. The reality of my semester has hit me. It hit me in the way that i’m done with half my senior year already, before i would i barely feel like i have entered school. But now, the reality hit me and i now know that i have get to work and finish my classes or else the year is gonna go flying by and i’m not going to graduate if i don’t pick up things.
Furthermore, it hit in the form of my age. Not so long ago i remember being fourteen years old, but i now realized i’m already going to have eighteen years of age!! I now realize what seniors before me would tell me, “Your senior year goes by in a blink of an eye” and it really does. Before graduation i need to accomplish various things. I need to do my job shadow, finish my senior project and catch up on last semester’s classes. In order for me to graduate i have a lot of work to do and i need to stay focus and not repeat how i did in first semester. My post-graduation plans are going well. I am planning on getting my high school diploma and then take a gap year. I am planning on having a gap year so that when i apply for college the next year i am more economically stable and have a transportation to get to college. What i have been doing for my post graduation plans is i have been working on my resume. I have also been looking for a job that can work in and get some experience in. The jobs i am interested in finding is one that deals with construction, cabinet making or art work. My plan is to find a job where i get hands on experience, i am looking forward into expanding my experience in cabinet making construction, or Art skills.

As graduation approaches, Many feelings arouse from in me. The days to my graduation get closer and closer, Time goes by in a second and i see my High School days coming to an end, with a new chapter waiting for me to open.Honestly, i am not very nervous, but excited. I am excited to graduate, get my diploma, and start being more independent. The only thing i’m nervous about would be my exit interview. I want to pass my exit interview on my first try and not have to repeat it. Preparations i have taken so far for post graduation are,i am planning on going to college but not the first year. I have been looking for a job so when i get out of school i could start working for a car.
In order for me to graduate i need to finish my exit interview power point and my journals. I also need to catch up on my last semester classes that i didn’t finish. I need to complete Economics, and English 12a. I am looking forward to completing all my classes and getting my high school diploma. After i graduate i am planning on getting a job and working until i earn enough money to be ready to go to college. I am looking forward in acquiring my a small career. My plans are to go to college of the sequoias, Porterville college, UTI or Barber school. I at least want to go to college or some school to get a decent job, even if the career is a small one, my goal is to at least have a better job than work in the fields in order to have a better lifestyle and give back to my parents. My overall goal is to get a job where i do not have to break my back working, I am looking into getting a job where i enjoy what i do and i do not have to break my back. I want to get myself a good job where i am able to maintain myself and become more independent. After i get a job and start working i am planning on moving out and getting my own place to in. Doing this, will help me become an adult that is able to be independent and get stabilized.
My senior year has been the best year so far. I am most grateful for having teachers and friends help me with my classes so i can graduate. Many Teachers have helped me get my work done. They have also been there and kept me motivated and determined to finish my work when i was about to give up. My parents have also supported me through all my high school years and have always encouraged me and pushed me to do better. My friends are one thing i am really grateful for, I do not talk to many of the people i used to talk to when i was younger but i have kept my closest friends and i am really grateful to have them since my elementary days.
